What is a publication?
A publication is a shared space where several people publish blog posts, quizzes and flashcard sets under one name. Readers can follow a publication to see its latest content.
1. Create a publication
Go to Workspace → My Library → Publications and click New publication.
- Name: e.g. "Nixloom Team"
- Description: what the publication writes about
- Logo: optional
Click Create.
2. Invite members
Open the publication, go to the Members tab and click Invite. Search by username or exact email, choose a role under Invite as and send the invitation. People join once they accept it.
Roles
- Owner: created the publication and has full control
- Admin: manages members and can edit the publication's content
- Writer: publishes their own content in the publication
3. Publish content in it
In the Blog, Quiz or Flashcard editor, open Settings → Publication and choose the publication under Publish in. Choose Just me (no publication) to publish under your own name instead.
Show my name in the byline: when on, readers see both the publication and you as the author. When off, readers see only the publication.
Important: content you publish in a publication stays there even if you leave or are removed, and its owner and admins can then edit it.
4. Manage the publication
- Posts: see everything published in the publication. Remove from publication sends a post back to its author
- Members: change roles (Make admin / Make writer), remove members or cancel invitations
- Settings: edit the name, description and logo
Use View public page to see the publication as readers do.
5. Leave or archive
In Settings → Danger zone:
- Leave publication: your content stays in the publication, and you can no longer edit it
- Archive publication (owner only): the public page is removed and every post goes back to its author
